Assembly Instructions for B3 Hive Lifter Model with Hydraulic Cylinder
Note: All the parts you need are in the box. You will need 9/16” and 1/2” wrenches to tighten the bolts. The "size" refers to the wrench size, not the bolt diameter.
Attach the handle assembly: Use two 9/16” bolts to attach the handle to the top of the mainframe. The wiring cable to the control switch is already connected, so make sure it moves freely and isn’t tangled.
Attach the legs: Use four 1/2” bolts to attach the legs. The axle rod is already in place through the legs. Attach the two small wheels (8” diameter) with a cotter pin to hold the wheels on.
Attach the front crossbar: Use two ⅜ ” bolts to attach the square bar to the front of the lifter. Tighten them securely.
Attach the vertical pipes: Use spring pins to attach the two vertical pipes at the top of the loader. These pipes help support the honey supers when lifting to prevent them from falling backward.
Attach the box handle grabbers: Slide the grabbers onto the front crossbar. Make sure the flappers that grab the box handle face inward. Use a super box to adjust the width between the grabbers, and then tighten the knob bolts to secure them. You can make adjustments later if your boxes are wider or narrower.
Attach the large wheels: Use the plastic tube spacers on the front axle to position the large 15” pneumatic wheels correctly. Secure the wheels with cotter pins. Check the tire pressure and inflate to 30 psi. Don’t exceed this pressure, as it can increase on hot days and damage the tires.
Charge the battery: Top up the battery charge in the metal storage box located between the frame rails. When the voltmeter shows less than 11 volts, it's time to charge the battery. The solar panel will charge the battery when the lifter is outside in the sun. For faster charging, you can use the 120V plug-in charger. When charging, make sure the switch is turned on. The battery has a toggle switch that shows the charge level with an LED. When fully charged, it will show 13.5V, and when fully discharged, it will show 11V. A full charge should lift at least 3 full honey supers about 120 times.
